HIKKI and ater. is a story about common values and aesthetics. As brands that derive from framed with beautiful environment Tricity, we feel a strong connection to nature. We love its seasonality , but we try to create timeless collections when we design. We are inspired by changing seasons and natural materials. What seasonality means to us, is creating collections, which are an answer to the needs resulting from cyclic season changes and accompanying weather conditions. We aim at our designs standing a test of time, therefore not loosing their adequacy after the end of one season, when it comes to fashion, as well as furniture design. Instead of following trends that change rapidly, we create products of universal design, which remain elegant and functional for years. We believe that this way we contribute to more sustainable and responsible approach to consumption.
Values Expressed through the Form
We love to talk about our values using form. As well as in fashion, as in furniture, the design plays a key role in communicating an idea. Our products are a manifestation of simplicity and timeless elegance, as well as an expression of our local identity. A connection of water and sky is a solid and unchanging landscape element, which accompanies us in everyday life. It inspires us to create simple and muted forms, which follow us through life, bringing in harmony and peace.
A Pleasure of Touch
Touch, sensory sensations and comfort of use play a key role in designing our products. Every material, like oak wood, natural stone, silk, linen or wool, which we use, are meticulously chosen in order to provide a nice sensory feeling. We believe that products should engage all senses. Thanks to that, they not only are pleasant to the eye, but also provide unique sensory sensations, giving everyday comfort and pleasure.
Connecting in the Aesthetic Idea
HIKKI and ater. cooperation is based on common aesthetic idea, which connects our brands. We believe that less is more, as well in the context of form, as in consumption. We believe that minimalistic approach to design lets us create timeless products, which will stand a test of time and will not loose its adequacy. We put an emphasis on quality and durability, aiming at restricting excessive consumption and promoting conscious choices.
